“In all the arts there is a physical component which can no longer be considered or treated as it used to be, which cannot remain unaffected by our modern knowledge and power. For the last twenty years neither matter nor space nor time has been what it was from time immemorial. We must expect great innovations to transform the entire technique of the arts, thereby affecting artistic invention itself and perhaps even bringing about an amazing change in our very notion of art.”

Paul Valéry, Pièces sur L’Art, Le Conquete de l’ubiquite, 1931.
Quoted by Walter Benjamin, The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction, 1936.

Hello Global Community,

My brother and I are looking for photographs taken of works of art in the
Museum of Modern Art in New York. We would like to use these photographs for display for an Internet project we are working on. This project is purely educational and no money will ever be made from it. So if you do have photographs you have taken at the MoMA, we would love to see them.

Information about the photographs we would like is:

Name of photographer
Date picture was taken

Of course that information is entirely optional.

Just because any photos we receive will most likely be posted on the
Internet, we should mention that sending us a photograph means that you give
us permission to post it on the Internet unmodified, along with the name of
photographer and date (if given).

Thanks and keep supporting your local artists!

T & B Hammond
